Basic Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The PHARMACIST is responsible for maintaining the store in order to ensure CUSTOMERS and visitors have access to necessary supplies and PRODUCTS
SCOPE
The PHARMACIST is responsible for maintaining customer service, maintaining cash controls, purchasing and maintaining the store and customer service facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
(Major responsibilities and target accomplishments expected of the position including the typical problems encountered in carrying out the responsibilities.)
Maintain customer services and facilities and advice the customers of the pharmacys products.
Main Activities
- Greet customers and provide assistance
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the store
- Merchandise the products according to categories and sub categories.
- Maintain stock, and regular stock take, supplies and inventories
- Take inventory at regular intervals and coordinate with the finance department personnel for this purpose.
- Order stock from ware house and supplies with the approval from the supervisor.
- Check received stock against invoices
- Mark prices on stock
- Restock shelves
- Achievement of the Targets assigned to him
- Continuous Reduction of expiry products as the case may be.
- Display merchandise category wise / sub category wise
- Implementation and adherence to companys policies (for e.g.: return / exchange)
- Maintain accounts
- Record prices in the log book
- Receive cash and provide correct change
- Operate the cash register
- Balance cash receipts
- Make deposits
- Record visa and debit accounts
- Print and record receipts
- Perform other related duties as required

Knowledge
The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
customer service
accounts payable and accounts receivables office administration
store and motel management and administration

The incumbent must demonstrate the following skills:

- book keeping skills computer skills including the
- analytical and problem solving ability to operate a cash register,
- skills computerized accounting,
- decision making skills spreadsheet and Word processing

The PHARMACIST would normally attain the required knowledge, skills and attitudes through related in experience in a retail setting. Equivalencies will be considered.

Physical Demands

The PHARMACIST will have to spend long hours Manager will have to do lifting of stock, supplies housekeeping and ensure the helper does his job right ( As per the manual given to you)
Standing and stocking shelves. The Store and materials and must complete light

(The nature of adverse environmental conditions affecting the incumbent)
The PHARMACIST may have to manage a number of projects at one time, and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of customers.
Sensory Demands
(The nature of demands on the incumbents senses)
The Store may be noisy and busy making it difficult for the PHARMACIST to concentrate.
Mental Demands
(Conditions that may lead to mental or emotional fatigue)
The PHARMACIST will have to manage a number of requests and situations at one time. Stress may be caused by the need to complete tasks within tight deadlines.
